Great learning helps people do their jobs while delighting with simplicity and beauty. Great learning is about content, technology, instructional design and art direction working harmoniously together, each element informing and in many ways shaping the other.

The paradox faced by instructional designers is organizational demands to decrease the duration of trainings while increasing measurable training effectiveness. The good news is that we have over 50 years of research that shows how human beings learn. By focusing on skill development, and providing granular, just-in-time, beautiful training, in the context of thorough organizational needs analysis and meaningful human resources selection, this challenge can be met.

Learner Engagement

The problem of learner engagement should never really be a problem: from the time they are children, all humans engage fully and effortlessly with content that solves the problems they are genuinely interested in solving, or content that intrigues or delights them.

Effective learning doesn't attempt to engage learners: its aim is to figure out what learners are interested in doing, and to help them do that, in an easy, beautiful way.
